Nes emulation handheld?

Post by Talmir »

Hello :)

I have looked all over the internet and I cant seem to find any info on my latest obsession.

How would I go about to start making a little handheld containing a nintendo emulator on it? I know I can buy a premade one but wheres the fun in that? ;)

Any info that you can give me would be truly appreciated :) Thank you.

Hmm, so far I have gathered that I need a "NOAC (Nes on a chip)" to have any kinds of hope to succeed..
however, I am confused how people manage to get in built games to run.. In particular the 76000 game thingy seems odd.. are those the same games as the commercial ones? Bad copies? If they are fine, are they a standard part of the NOAC thingy?

Nes-on-a-Chip's (NOAC's) have built in games, but from what I've heard, they're usually lame.
You could make an original NES handheld and use a flash cart like this. Basically you get a cart that you can put a flash card with ROM's into (Compact Flash IIRC).
