NES overclock success! Instructions coming soon!

Post by JimmyDean »

Hi all! I just Oc'd my nes a while ago, however I was not a member of these forums at that time. I realized it would be relevant as the people here would probably enjoy my story. I will post instructions in a separate topic, so stay prepared! I had to search spanish documents, get a processor pinout, and now, at last, the slowdown is eliminated! It was a disaster, because when I was drilling the hole for the spdt switch, the casing cracked! And on top of that, a wire came loose on my crystal oscillator (which provides the clock signal), which by the way is about 1cm by 1/2cm in size. (I'll solder it back, however my 13 year old life is very busy! training for cross country...) Now I have to get a new NES... I also completed a sega genesis region mod, before my sega genesis went missing!

So stay on your toes! Instructions coming soon!

Is anybody interested? If nobody wants to preform this mod, then there is no point in me listing the instructions, right?

I'm interested. I may or may not ever do it, but I am interested.

okay, I'll post the instructions later. It only involves lifting a pin on the cpu, tapping the old clock signal, hooking up an oscillator to the voltage reg's rightmost pin and putting a switch between the two. Easy as pie, in my opinion.
