Comp Audio vs. RGB Audio

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Comp Audio vs. RGB Audio

Post by Archon276 »

I was watching this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrNxtOeSDT0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and this dude nicely lays all the pins out and says what goes where. then he says the 2 different types of video comp and rgb but what is the difference between the audio rgb and composite?

the psone screen has two modes. It's basically the same thing, but it uses the rgb audio when you have rgb video, and the composite audio when you input composite video. If you want to use both video signals, just solder them together

So would i HAVE to solder them all together or could i just use composite and leave the rgb audio all together. Im asking this cause I'm using the screen to have a RGB out in my VGA cable i ultimately want it to work with the vga cable for the xbox 360 that has the laft and right composite audio.

if you only need one video source, you can just solder them to the pins for that video source. In other words, no you do not have to solder them together.
