Sharp LQ5AW126 ??

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Sharp LQ5AW126 ??

Post by maddox »

Hi folx,

I'm from germany and trying to build my own handheld.

I got here a 5" colour LCD from Sharp (LQ5AW126).
My question, is it possible to use this one for a handheld ?

The pinout :

PIN= -Symbol-- i / o-- description

01 = -HSY-- i,o-- Horizontal sync Signal
02 = -VSY-- i,0-- Vertical sync Signal
03 = -PWM-- o-- Output PWM dimming backlight
04 = - NTP-- i-- Display mode change (PAL / NTSC)
05 = - HRV-- i-- Direction of horizontal scanning
06 = -VRV-- i-- Direction of vertical scanning
07 = -VSW-- i-- selection signal of 2 sets of video signal
08 = -SAM-- i-- Sampling mode change
09 = -V cdc-- i-- DC bias voltage adjusting terminal of common electrode driving signal
10 = -VSH-- i-- positive power supply voltage
11 = -VBS-- i-- Composite video signal sync separator
12 = -BRT-- i-- Brightness adjusting terminal
13 = -VR 1-- i-- Color Video Signal red 1
14 = -VG 1-- i-- Color Video Signal green 1
15 = -VB 1-- i-- Color Video Signal blue 1
16 = -VSL-- i-- Negative Power supply voltage
17 = -VR 2-- i-- Color Video Signal red 2
18 = -VG 2-- i-- Color Video Signal green 2
19 = -VB 2-- i-- Color Video Signal blue 2
20 = -GND-- i-- Ground
21 = -CLKC-- i-- Change the inpuit / output direction of : CLK, HSY, VSY
22 = -CLK-- i,o-- input / output clock signal

If there are any questions about the LCD, datasheet is aviable

looks like it only has rgb input. It looks like it'll work fine though. Do you know what voltage it needs?

Doesen't that mean it has composite video input?

No, it has 2 seperate rgb inputs. That input only uses composite to get the sync signal :)

(eggs=ex, therefore, I said "exactly"...for those who didn't know :P)
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

hmmm . . .

ok, lets have a look at the playstation AV pinout here >> HERE

so could you please tell me how 2 wire the psx and screen together ?

I tryed it several times, but witout any succes.
I think the most problem is the correct power up wiring for the screen.

looks like a wiring diagram on page 28 of the pdf. Look like the screen needs 3 different voltages :?
