More progress:
Slightly blurry couldn't find camera batteries so I snapped off a quick one before total shutdown.

Lookin' good! Have you decided what you'll be doing about the memory card slot?
If you're getting 404'd when trying to use the links in stickies, try

For size reference, is this about the width of two zenith screens?

9" x 5 3/4" x 1 1/2" . The two handles on the ends stick out a bit past that.

I see from your pic that the d-pad is small. Is it a gamecube d-pad? And if so how the heck did you wire it? (I know how, but the official gamecube controller is silkscreened so it's really annoying to hack up) Any tips?

looking great dude. you should paint it some other color than black though. like how about nintendo spice orange ! or the same purple they made the gamecube? something other than black. you know, make it stick out a bit.

Well I'm almost done just waiting on batteries because the ones I had I didn't like (Camcorder Lithium Ions). So I'm waiting on my standard 7.4v 4700mAh Lithium Polymere.
In the meantime I made a 1st and 2nd player port adapter breakout box.
I used this box:
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2062279 " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And 2- 3.5mm stereo jacks:
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2103451 " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Then I put two more in the portable. So when you want to play with external controllers just plug in the extension box. Plug the first one in for the first player or the second one for the second player, or both
