Stuck pixels. Darn...

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Stuck pixels. Darn...

Post by killercottontail »

I just got my dealextreme 3.5" screen in the mail yesterday! I powered that sucker on and the performance was very good (graphics very sharp, crisp colors, etc.) However, there are two very stubborn pixels in the bottom left conrner. One really likes to be blue and the other likes to be an obnoxious lime green. Now granted this is not to much of an issue, and I am not returning the screen but if you focus too much on them it can be a big distraction. Anyone have any good experience with stuck pixels (in particular the removing of them)? I'd really appreciate it if anyone can help me make those two buggers disappear...

If they're really just stuck, fast video (like an action movie) can unstick them after a while. Make sure it is pan and scan or made for TV, as you need the action to happen in that corner.

There is a stuck pixel fixer video. The video flashes blue red and green very fast trying to get the pixel unstuck. It's more like a 50-50 chance but there's no harm in trying.

if those dont work you can try messaging the pixel after the screen has been warmed up for a bit. dont push to hard and i am not responsible for borking your screen (yadda yadda yadda).
