Me being a victim of an electric shock from 120v outlet......I was a kid when this happened......gimme break!
I personally do not like any of the older cloth like wire insulators, I know most people would prefer to preserve the original integrity of antiques like that, but I would find myself replacing the wire with something rubber coated. Especially if I'm just using it for around the house; cloth can become damp and conduct electricity.

This is actually something called "Paranite" wire, its rubber insulated and cloth wrapped, new old stock from 1948 . If i had any questions about its integrity i would have used the cord the fan had on it, an ugly brown rubber thing and my little 6" barcol fan zapped me good not long ago when i was messing with it, i had the switch cover off and forgot it was plugged in and touched one of the contacts

Wish I had an antique fan to cool down with...unfortunatly, most, if not all the antique stores round here only have junk (and by junk, I mean more useful as scrap metal at best) and furniture...no fun old electronic devices.

I'm working on a little 9" century S2 oscilator right now, its only a single speed but it will be a REALLY nice little fan assuming i get it back up and running (it was really rough when i started lol). interested? they arent worth much so i would sell it fairly cheap

If I'm reading the motor tag correctly it looks to be september 18, 1921. I THINK thats the build date on the tag. The most recent patent date on it is 1914. Here are a couple more pictures of what it looks like right now




It obviously still needs painted, a little bondo work, then reassembled tested to ensure it still works! it looks like it was run without oil for a while should be fine tho

modded my Genesis 2 so i can use normal AV cables instead of that RF out thing, will post pictures after i clean up a bit.

Here's a little something.

I have a stack of 32X games sitting around, most of which are without a box....I have 2 games that do have boxes, and it's rather nice to see them with a box. SO, I decided to take matters into my own hands!!

(you may notice the sides both say moby games on them, that's the site I pulled the scans from...)

The barcode side--FYI, the barcode is from a random google search, as I coudln't find any scans of the sides of the box anywere, only the front and back.

The project needs a little tweaking tho. The box is about 1/16" shorter than a regular box, and the labeling on the sides needs to be resized just a bit. They'd probably be closer to the real thing, but I made the sides while being board at work, and only had MS paint to work with. OTHERWISE tho, it's darn close!

With this 99% successful test, I can now make boxes for all my unboxed 32X games! Of course, i'm going to have to recreate the sides using photshop to make sure that they look spot on, but that's only a minor detail.
