Hi Everybody
Sorry about being new but you gota start somewere.
Im making a psone portable (obviously), and Im almost done.
I just have one qusetion
On the PsOne motherboard, there is this small little silver square thing right to the diagonal left of the big fuse near the power plug. It keeps frying on me . When I replaced it (it was really hard to solder) it still fried. I'm think that there might be something wrong with the wires to the battery but I don't know. One other thing. It fries, as soon as the batteries are all connected, not when I turn it on. Any help would be awesome Thanx
Sorry about the double post, but I have another question.
I found that my psone was in fact dead, the power wires were touching and shorted out.
Since I now need a new psone, I was thinking about getting a PSX, due to them being cheaper. I was wondering how much worse they are than the Psone. Does anyone know how much bigger the mobo of the PSX is. Also are there any other dissadvantages. Also does PSX acept the analog dualshock i think they're called) controllers?
Thanx Niku Sama.
What do you mean by easier? Easier to portablize? Does anyone know if they accept dualshock controllers?
One more thing. Why doesn't anyone use the official sony battery pack? I know its kind of big but you can't beat 2-3hrs of play time for $16 (dealyard.com)
Hey it's probably not dead! There are fuses on the PSOne mobo that, if shorted, will make the PSone work again. If you think this might help I can point out some of the fuses to try.
Your right G-Force.
I should try the fuses. Im pretty sure its dead though, because, the little silver thing was really smoking. I'll try a few of the fuses though.

Thats a pretty good idea about the sony battery , wonder what they look like inside if you got rid of all of the extra plastic.
Im getting the battery tonight, so it should arrive in a few days. All tell you what it looks like inside. Its probably pretty full cause unless its like a really high capacity battery, it will have to be big.
I checked for the 7805, and it said 12 on it, so I guess its dead. Oh well, I guess Ill just have to get a new one.
Just so you know, Im using the battery pack, because I dont really care a bout space, and im sick of killing playstations.
