Over the years I've managed to collect several USB controllers. Some of them aren't even made anymore. I obviously don't want to mod the internals of my rarer USB pads.
I don't know much about USB cables, but I was wondering. Would it even be technically possible to add a USB port on a 360 pad? You know, sort of like the Wii remote and the plug for the classic controller, except make it USB and compatible with any standard HID USB pad? Does something like that sound remotely possible?
Adding a USB port to a controller?

Sure, but you would have to create the proper interface. Why would you want to do this anyway?
Re: Adding a USB port to a controller?
Well, I have a few controllers I like for different game genres. It's easy enough to plug them into a PS3, but you can't do that with the 360.
Creating an interface... I assume thats a much more complicated process then just adding a USB port and somehow Soldering one wire for each button to the PCB.
If it requires too much modding it might not be worth the effort.

It won't be worth the effort. You'd need a microcontroller with USB host capability programmed to translate the signals coming from the USB controller into button presses on the gamepad.websurfer wrote:If it requires too much modding it might not be worth the effort.
