Paddle mod failed?

Paddle mod failed?
I had a controller with the joustik broken of so i (tried/failed) to add a paddle. It was a 5k ohm pot(well 4.89 to be exact).did i pin it out wrong?can i get a pinout?

It doesn't work like that at all. The paddle uses completely different pins than the joystick. It's impossible to just add a pot to a joystick and have it work.

I have no idea, nor do I have a paddle controller to follow traces. You ought to be able to start at those points on the 2600 board, and follow them to the controller port, though.

i will use a computer cable for it . well i guess i will trace it. it is 5k resister correct?
