How are you planning on doing the cart slot? Wires directly to the chips?

Are you by any chance going to add any sort of protection to the board (like a fuse) since it's notoriously easy to fry?

I have no idea if that is possible/ realistic, but I thought I'd throw it out there...

Yes, it's doable and I was already planning on placing a fuse on the input. I could also add in a reverse protection diode in case the battery is hooked up backwards.

Certainly.

At the moment I'm still working on getting stuff laid out on the board and making some of the connections tidy.

I already have the RDRAM section completely done and resistor terminated except for the clock generator, I just need to do some testing on one of my working 64's before I can complete that part.

The temperature controlled fan section is 90% complete, all components are laid out but, I still need to do some breadboard testing to make sure that the components I chose will operate the way I want them to.

The power supply section is pretty much completely laid out. Did some testing with the 3.3 to 5V step up supply I will be using in the section that needs it but, I still need to do some "real world" n64 testing with that.

Progress isn't the fastest but, it's getting there. Apparently I may not have to omit any ground traces between CPU and RCP. At 600x600 DPI laser printing, the traces are easily distinguishable and should be no problem when I go to photo etch the circuit board. Double sided board should be no problem to make.

I'm also thinking about making the portable LOB64 "compliant".

If any moderator reads this, could I have the thread title changed to: "Do we have room for another N64P? (t64 WIP)"? Please and thank you! :)

You can actually do that yourself, by editing the first post's subject.

I knew that would get asked at some point so I made a video. It's not up anywhere yet though so I'll put up a link to it once I upload it.
