Searched for it, got 2 hits: Your post and ghostt's quote of your post. ;) :P (Well now I quoted your posts so that's 3) This is the first I've seen of it, and it's pretty much exactly what the doctor ordered.

The hard part will be getting it uploaded. As far as I know Ben's the only one with FTP access to the server. (Spongey might have a login but I'm not sure.)
I didn't suggest that particular one before. I think the last time I brought it up was before the pHpbb 3 switch. As for getting it uploaded to the server, it can't be that hard for a forum admin to get in touch with Ben and get him to upload it. ;)

Yup, assuming Ben hasn't changed it (which, as far as I know, hasn't happened). Thing is, I never really have figured out how to install phpBB3 mods, and can't find much out on the Internets for some odd reason. Anyone have any good links? If I find out the way it generally works, I could even have the spambot issue mostly fixed by the end of next week.

Yeah, for some reason they still haven't come up with a decent, standard MOD system for phpBB. Image

If you download that one and open the install.xml file in Firefox, it will give you step-by-step instructions on what files to copy where, and what lines to add where in the core phpbb files. I'm trying it out now on a WAMP virtual machine.

EDIT: It needs you to make a new table in the database. I just did it with phpmyadmin on the VM. Do you have access to that here, or will we have to find another solution?

EDIT 2: The part where you have to edit the template files is written for Prosilver and the code you have to find (to mark where they want you to paste the new code in) isn't the same between it and SubSilver2 (the theme we use). It should work, but it would just take more work than copy/paste, copy/paste.

EDIT The Third: Installed fine, but for some reason I can't get the settings system to show up in the admin panel. :?

It took me a while before I could figure out how to install anything in one of my own forums.

Ok, at least I feel less, well, stupid. I don't have the MySQL password, but I'm sure that's stored in a phpBB config file, so I think I could find it easily enough (and I don't think Ben would mind, so long as I use my powers for good). That does give me an idea, though, something I think I can do easily enough...

Edit: Why didn't I do that earlier?

Edit 2: My feeling on an infomercial that just started: :wtf:
