The internet is probably the only place where you can say you got a telescope out of somebody's garbage and get praised for the nice find.

That being said, nice find! Is it a cheapo one or is it fancy? Either way, you should do something cool with it!

It's a cheapo one, unfortunately - one of those $50 ones you'd buy for a young kid before investing in a good one. That said, however, I hope to be able to use it for something - the lenses might be good for something as long as they're not super cheap plastic ones, and the tripod might be good for something, too.

You could make a webcam telescope, or use it in a costume (I'm thinking gigantic spyglass to complement a pirate getup). Ooooor you could try making an awesome magnifying glass that burns things. To be honest, I can't think of many uses for it other than just being awesome.

AWSOME DEAL FOR ME.

At a carboot sale on Sunday I was about to leave without buying anything when I noticed an N64 in a box on the floor.

I went over and asked the guy how much and he said I could have every thing in the box for 8GBP and guess what was in it.

- N64 unboxed with leads working

- N64 Pokemon edt with leads unboxed working

- N64 boxed with mario 64 like new working

- sega master system II with alexkid built in and sonic 2 cart fully working

- 2 gameboy colors both working

-and finally a digital tv freeview box that also works

and also there was loads of N64 pads and other random pads and cables.

Scored some awesome stuff this weekend!

I got six or seven PlayStation games, inclusing "Resident Evil 3 Nemesis" and "Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee" (disc-only) for a total of $4!

I also went to Toys 'R' Us yesterday and found a Sony-brand PlayStation component cable on clearance for $8 - I didn't have my wallet at the time, but since we had to go back to town anyways, I got to pick it up! Now I have component cables for both my PS2 and my PS3!

I wish I lived in a city big enough, or at least close enough to one, to find these kinds of deals in all the time.
