Re: GARAGESALES 2008-2009!
I'll say this: I really wish I had gotten to one particular garage sale this weekend earlier in the day... This guy sold a box of PlayStation games to someone for $10. Among the games was "Final Fantasy VII."
Dammit, I hate my luck this year, especially since I was rolling in goods last year...

Re: GARAGESALES 2008-2009!
I went t the goodwill with my grandma yesterday. Grandma+goodwill+sunday= 50% off everything. Don't worry, I paid her back for what I got, though.
So here are my scores.
official snes pad: $2.50
genesis2 with metal plate on bottom for scd ( the sega cd was gone, as well as the hookups): $7.50
unopened 1998 lego technic motor set: $1
and here's the coolest bit I got
a 1980s Xscribe xec 5 computer. The thing came with original carrying bag, and the fake floppy that protects the floppy drive, but there were no hookups. It looks to be used very few times, as it is in geat cosmetic condition. I got it for $7.50
Now, I know nothing whatsoever about this computer, and as there are no power or video cables for it, I can't use it. If anybody has any imformation on this computer, or has cables for them, PM me.
I will get pictures of the unit in a bit.
EDIT: I just found from my mom that this may be a word processor. Still cool though, and I still need cables.

If it's a reseal it's still in near mint condition, the case has no scratches or dents.wallydawg wrote:looks like a reseal to me
You think you're bad off? I haven't seen a single garage sale this year! Not one! Not even a crap sale!Twilight Wolf wrote:I'll say this: I really wish I had gotten to one particular garage sale this weekend earlier in the day... It is entirely possible that what you got is a word processor. The one my parents used to use had a screen, I think, though.

I think that thing connects to an old 9 pin MGA/CGA monitor. You might be able to make an adapter for VGA or Composite for it.

Well, there were no records that I mentioned, but I got something better. I'm talking about "whenever you need somebody" by Rick Astley. And for those of you who don't know, the first song on it is "Never gonna give you up". Album cost $3. I also got a polariod portable DVD player with all the hookups and AV in for $25.

Re: GARAGESALES 2008-2009!
I went to a local village-wide garage sale, and the only gaming-related item I bought was Halo 2 for XBox for $3. And I already have it, but the disk is mint and the price unbeatable...
Still, was hoping to find more that just that.

Re: GARAGESALES 2008-2009!
Got a gba 88 in 1 multi cart for 3 bucks... it is basically a portable nes, with one gba game, the areo the acrobat gba port...and some odd sprite switch games, like "Cure for cancer" which is donkey kong with some odd sprite swap, bomber mario, where it is bomber man with mario as bomber man, gombas as those balloon dudes, and coin blocks are the walls, and balloon mario, where the balloon guy is replaced with mario. other wise, a great cart, has mario broes, mega ma, dk jr math, dk1-3, etc.
Sometimes, life isn't fair, but you just have to work around it.

I went back to the town yardsale today and found one of those c64oac things for $5. Anybody put a cart slot on one yet? I also got about 16 1960s MAD magazines and a popeye and a Blondie comic all for $8.
