To stoke the fires of rumor-madness...

Post by benheck »

A couple weeks ago I was in the chat room here and someone informed me that an IDE to Compact Flash adapter existed. I found this very interesting because I had already installed an Atari 800 to IDE adapter in an 800 XE Game system. I ordered one off eBay that very night.

There's a guy by the name of "Mr Atari" who came up with it. Here's his site:

http://www.mr-atari.com

Anyway, I got the IDE to Compact Flash adapter today. After forcing myself to do some writing I finally allowed myself to hook it up to the XEGS.

A few hours later I was booting to DOS off the Compact Flash! Hm... I wonder what I could be planning to build?

Not to tip my cards, but does anyone know of any 5 volt larger-than-the-PSOne screens out there?

He he he he....

hmmm.... couldn't you just use a step up converter so you can run a 12V screen off of 5V?

Stepup convertors are really big so it wouldnt be the most pratical thing.

As for a screen running on 5+ volts... Look for a 4" or 5" portable tv on ebay, there around just have to look. Thats the best and closest to 5 volts I can get otherwise you'll have to set it up like the origninal VCSp that ran off two batteries.

Just a question what could you do with that MyIDE besides have like a dozen or two games on one disk?
