Then the screen turned black for no reason (it was on about 14% I think) but the green LED was still on for a few seconds. Then it turned off, and now it wont turn on anymore.

I followed the directions extremely carefully. It was even working for a while, before it messed up.

I have a PSP-1000 (fat). I did all the 1.50 stuff (load 1.50 EBOOT, etc) I just want to know WHY this happened.
It's probably bricked. Does it still do the green light when a pandora is jacked in?
Yeah, it's bricked, but I still don't understand why it happened.

Probably your battery is too low to continue, or the battery was moved and had a loose connection with the contacts.

I was using a HotWire battery i bought off the internet, so yeah, that could have happened... should I buy the Datel Tool Battery and use that to unbrick it?

Try again with your battery. Once booted to Pandora mode, plug it in the charger straight away.

The battery runs on 3 AAA battery's, so when I tried to do that, the green LED kept blinking on and off, and nothing changed.
I think I'm going to borrow a friend's pandora battery and try to unbrick it.
Do you know what files do I need to have on the Magic Memory Stick to unbrick it?
Thanks for the help, by the way.

This helps unbrick a PSP too, right?

I heard that this is the way how people unbrick it. Just overwrite the broken firmware with a newer one.

Thanks for all the help, I'll try this soon, I might buy a Hybrid 2-in-1 battery to do it.

ok...so I have a Tool battery from PandoraSales.com and I have a PSP Phat (serial is PSP-1001). I made the magic memory stick exactly as shown, I held down the left trigger, and I put in the Tool battery.

All that happened though was the green power light turned on. The PSP didn't even turn on, neither did the screen, and there's no install menu. What am I doing wrong?

I got it to work, but not using Rain's program. I'm not sure his program works in every case. I downloaded the Despertar 3 program as recommended here in the comments section to Adam, and it worked.

Note, your PSP will be in Spanish mode, so make sure to change it back to English in the settings.
