Audio Issues

Post by jgibson »

As constuction on my nesp continues, I have run into a new problem. Friday night, I was testing the audio on my system. I had bought a mono 1/8" audio jack from Radio Shack to test the audio. I hooked up the jack and plugged in my headphones. I wanted to amplify the signal so I hook up a headphone amp that I had also gotten from the Shack. I then turned on the power to my system. Initially, I heard a series of static sounds, like the game pack wasn't making a good connection. I cleaned the pack and tried again. Nothing but static. I accidently dropped the amp pulling the audio wire from my board, but after I resodered it, and test the audio. I get absolutely nothing, not even static. Have I fried the board? I used my multimeter on the board and I am getting anywhere from 5 to 5.5 volts coming off of it. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
