Casio EV-680 White LED Mod

Please tell me how to apply this mod to the TV to maintain normal TV use. I found the gudie as an excert from the book "Hacking Pocket Screens" at http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1 ... 749,00.asp

The problem for me is that I'm usting int not to use the LCD whit a hadked game systemm but to use my TV longer when on bateries. The guide only covers using the white LED mod for the LCD as if you wnat the just use the screen. Can I just soder the LED's back to where the bulb was? Which side of the bulb is positeve and which is negative? Do I still need the two 10 Ohm resistors?

If anyone can help me figure this out I would be thankful. I started taking my TV apart before I realized that the guide was for removing the LCD and not for use with the TV. I still want to complete the mod, but I still want to use my TV.

Sorry, the book is "Hacking Video Game Consoles". I had it confused with the name of the article on the site. I beleive it's by the guy who's site this forum is for.
