I think the issue was that they did not want people making alternate accounts to vote... A quick IP check should let the mods know if these are actually new registrants, or just accounts made by people to vote for themselves.

Heck I could call up 40 people in a half hour and tell them to sign up and vote for me. I have a lot of friends who would do that if I asked.

So new account = NO VOTE in my book.
Not that it really matters, just my OCD kickin in.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I've seen it get way out of hand when people do that. In fact, someone here was asking for votes on some other site, and it ended up with people coming here and spamming here.
