Ok... Before reading all the specs on my new PS2 system, understand I WILL be attempting this... I want to put a PS2 in a custom built plexiglass case... BUT, I will suspending the motherboard in the case about 1/2in to run 3 bars of 4" blue CCFT under the board to make the thin areas glow, AND glow underneath the board, but still hiding the lights. I will also be adapting 3 80GB HDDs, stack form like computers do, AND installing a custom audio/visual system, with adjustable LCD screen. The LCD will lift from the top, and swivel left and right, and bend up and down to adjust it just right... Along with two 3" full range speakers, and one 5" LPF "sub" woofer for bass... All ran on a PC speaker system amplifier... The unit will be powered by a cheapy 350 watt computer PSU. Ohh, the motherboard will be completely visible to see the mod chip, with no heatsink, but 2 cooling fans, each applied directly tot he Emotion Engine, and Graphic Synthesizer... I'll even apply a third cooling fan for the top of the motherboard... Will be sweet! I even plan to incorporate 12" CCFT on all 4 edges, top left and right, and bottom left and right... All the ribbons will be extended to customize where the controller port will go, and where the CD drive will load. Lots or work, but surprisingly, not much money, since i already own almost everything I need. To top it off, I'm making a custom glass template to etch a logo onto the plexi glass top, AND sign my name into the bottom with the etching system... Drawing concept photos tonight... Looking to start not to long after recieving my PS2...
Something I forgot, I will be using RCA outputs, AND have RCA inputs for any other system, along with a system selector... This is goin to be huge!!! BUT, not the actual project... The actualy thing will only be as a big as a Ps2, plus maybe half the length of a second PS2... 'm talking 6" think, 15" long, 10" wide, tops! I might halve to drop the audio/visual system... Can't think of how i would make the SONY LCD swivel without ripping the ribbon. Up and down movement are easy, but making the LCD display move left and right without the motherboard present? Difficult...
Ultimate PS2...
