Post by gannon »

My NOAC's 1st player controller traces broke. I resoldered them but they aren't working still. I'm gonna try an check the connections and hope I can get it working. I was really hoping to get my nesp done soon too

Why does that matter? Are you using the controller that came with it? I have a pinout for the controller chip if you need it.

I have all the pinouts already, it's just that a few of the traces going to the NOAC are broken (data and P/S to be more specific)

Ah i see, I read it as the contrller board traces had broken.
That's gonna be really hard to fix, good luck. Seems like you could solder some REALLy small wire to the trace and fix it, but maybe not.

I already soldered them once, but I didn't get a good enough connection though (or too good of one)
For some reason the P1 data line was measuring at 5V all the time, even when no buttons are being pressed (should be 0V unless a button is pressed)
I'm really hoping that it's not a problem inside the chip itself. It'd be awhile before I can save up for another NOAC :

Alas...yonder NOAC is dead.
Well, not dead per se, just unusable because there is now no 1st controller support. I had the 2 traces soldered, but the wires popped off along with the traces. I tried to scrape back the glob top, but that also seemed to pull of the traces with it :'(

also jeep, what's broken on your megajoy II that you know of?

Well, the electricity kinda stopped passing through the adapter one day, so I by-passed by the first condensator there. And 2 dyas after, the led wouldn't open, nothing would load. So I was like.... crap ! It's dead ! So I bough a new one (crap ! those cost a lot !!!). Anyway, I still have the older. I'm wondering how I could put an original nes controller for first controller... Anyway, the chip is not modified or anything (on my broken one), I just think I maybe broke somethingm but the higher voltage it was one was 12 volt (that was an accident while wiring it on the LCD  ), my composite video wire falled on one of the adapter wire and the other wire falled on the other one. Anyway  , it still worked after that, but now, it just don't work anymore. I'm using it to look at the chip (I have not opened my new one yet, I'm too affraid :p) I'll finish the screen first.

Here's an incomplete pinout for the megajoy II that was on PoD

I also have a full pinout for the 2nd player controller hookup and the schematic for the power input and a/v output.

Yeah, I had this one, but for player one, I want to wire it to an original NES controller. But the wire defined on this things is for the second controller right ? Oh, and if you could post the others schematics you have, it would be great. :)

well you could anways scrape off a spot with a needle on the connections leading to them then scrape it up a bit and soder to it little diffacult to get it to stick but once you get it to its there it would be ok I have done what I discribed before on differint devises I screwed up on would stick to 15 wat iron though if your gonna do it
Im done here

As I said earlier, I already did scrape back the glob top, but the traces kept getting pulled up with the glob top.
