I had the hardest time figuring out how to wire up the headphone jack to my SNES portable, and I thought that a diagram I could put in the wiki would help. I'm going off of memory so please tell me if this is correct or not. Do I have the pins in the right place?
Green headphone jack found with PSOne screen
(could also use RadioShack stereo headphone jack catalog #274-249; similar placement of pins)

Pin 1: Ground
Pin 2: Connect to "HP_R" on back of PSOne/Zenith screen
Pin 3: Connect to "HPS"
Pin 4: Connect to "HPS"
Pin 5: Connect to "HP_L"
The way it works: In order for sound to come out of the speakers, HP_L, HPS, and HP_R must be connected. This is why you have to blob solder over all three if you aren't making a headphone jack. Otherwise, the audio output goes to HP_L and HP_R (which obviously stands for headphone left channel and headphone right channel). Pins 2 & 3 and pins 4 & 5 are "normally closed", thus creating the short. When a headphone plug is inserted, they are no longer connected and thus eliminates the short. This switches the audio output from the speakers to the headphones. Tadaa!
If this info is already available, then it's not easily found. Forgive me if I missed it, and hopefully this info will be handy to someone. If you've never listened to Yoshi's Island (or any other game with great, complex music) in full stereo through headphones, you're missing out!
