Oh snap...
My dad and I (I have no soldering experience at all) desoldered the pin. I'm sure we got the right one and I'm sure its disconnected. When I put the battery back in, the Power light turns green and it won't turn on. Is this supposed to happen? What should I do after this? I have to admit that I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing. I just wanted homebrew on my PSP. If anyone wants pictures of the desoldered pin, I will send them.
I'm only here to get homebrew working on my PSP. Email instructions to nickynaumann@aol.com

Different Battery???
Ok, i open my Sony battery but it doesn't look anything like the pictures inside...
The board is really small and is only on the top on the battery.
Is there anything i can do or do i have to source a new battery?
Thanks

small board battery
hi i got the same problem i got the psp 3.6v 1800mAh with a small board on top any ideas what to do next
Hey I am using AVAST antivirus software, and whenever I try to extract these files it keeps giving me an antivirus warning, and asks me to either ignore it or delete it.
I'm too scared to ignore it, so I click delete anyways, I'm not saying theres a virus in it, it may well be that avast is being over-sensative.
I used this tutorial and it helped me a bit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDoQno9bCxM

First time poster! I also am a total n00b to homebrew but would really like to play some SNES games on my PSP.
Before I start hacking away at my battery, I thought I'd bring up this question because, in my hours of searching, I have not found an answer. This forum was the closest I'd come to in my quest for making my own pandora battery.
I have a *Japanese* PSP slim. The model is PSP-2000, but the battery is <a href="http://i34.tinypic.com/1zr1kll.jpg" target="new">3.6V 1200mAh</a>. It is currently running version 3.60 and I don't know how to downgrade that, or if I even can.
The battery board <a href="http://i37.tinypic.com/2i74igl.jpg" target="new">is really small</a>. I managed to find the S93C56 chip, but I'm not sure that if I bend the 5th pin this stuff will work. Because the Japanese software is probably different. XD And I want to play English SNES games (perhaps I'll have to find an American battery...)!
Has anyone tried this on a Japanese PSP? I probably shouldn't risk anything, but I'd like to know if it is possible. Also, I apologize for the picture quality. I took them with my phone, but it at least shows the size of the board.

unsure
i disconnected the 5 pin as the picture showed on the initial post, exactly how the picture shows it, where the pin was in relation to the serial code on the top. last time i used a soldering stylus i ended up touching the wring thing and the HD went useless, so i used a needle to pry it of and it looks just about the same, but the psp doesnt recognize the battery, it will turn on if i got the cord in it, but the batt. may as well not even be there, has anyone seen this?

for people with other batteries than the 1 specified here, you can use a battery converter: http://us.codejunkies.com/Products/PSP- ... 00530.aspx
it converts any battery into a pandora ( service tool ) battery and back again in a press of a button.
And that is also a good idea if you dont have any confidence in your soldering skills.....
or you could get a dual pandora-normal battery, from here: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15153 ( recommended if you dont live in the US or Canada, i dont, i live in australia, i brought my battery converter off eBay =D )
p.s. to blackbox_dev hope you dont mind me using the images of the battery in my tutorial on how to custom firmware any PSP, if yer want to see it, go here: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?t=26459
if you want me to remove the images, just say =D

Re: My Pandora Issues
Is this a Phat or a Slim? You have the "Green Light, no screen display." It's normal for a pandora to do that.QuisEs99 wrote:Hey while i was cutting open my battery i saw sparks and some weird smelling smoke.... now when i create the magic memory stick and run it with the Pandora's battery the power light lights up but not the wifi one, therefor nothing happens. idk what i did wrong but my memory stick is a 256 pro duo is that it or did i break my pandora's battery because of the weird smelling smoke......?
