Painting question

Post by GoldenfrankO »

Ok I want to paint on of my gameboys. I know hot to take it apart and remove the skin and everything, but I need to know what kind of paint I should use. I've got Enamel Spray paint but 'm not sure if that would work. Do you think I could use that weithout it flaking off? What should I use?

The hardest part about painting isn't the painting, it's the preparation. Clean, sand (or somehow roughen the surface) and clean again.

Regular spray paint may work, but you might have better luck with a paint designed for plastic. Krylon Fusion is the most common and easiest to find. Since you're going to be handling it all the time, several thin coats should be applied.

Under 5 bucks a can.

It costs more than the cheap off-brand crap, but the result is worth it because it gives you a much better result. (It was formulated to bond with plastic. Most enamel paints just sit on the surface.)

EDIT: This is not news of a completed project nor is it discussing one of Ben's projects. Moving...

I did a laptop and PSP with 2 cans. If you use more than one can you have 1) problems and need to learn to spraypaint better, and 2) the paint will never chip, but will probably stop the case from going back together.
