hello all, i been lurkin around here for about a month and finally decided to post. First off im currently working on an SNESp using a SNES ver.1 board which is my first portable project so Id like to ask everyone to bare with my newb skills. Id buy/use a "mini" if i didnt already have 2 Ver. 1 snes's sittin in my closet as is so i figured i may aswell use what i alrdy have. Now im doin the tacklebox case method used by a few of u guys on PSXp and N64p projects and the initial dremeling and what have you is going fine aside from the expansion slot on the bottom end of the SNES ver.1 board which i believe gets in the way of me mounting an LCD, i dont have an LCD yet so i cant really test but im pretty sure its gonna be in the way, i was wondering if it is at all possible to remove/desolder the slot and if so will i have to re-complete any broken traces? Can somone please give me info on what has to be re-soldered if the expansion slot can infact be removed?
gotcha, so the shield that the 7805 mounts to and the sound unit sits on top of is needed, what about the under shielding of the mobo and the shielding that sits between the cart slot and the control ports (shielding on front of mobo) are they needed?
