Question about my SNES design

Hey everyone, I am thinking about just bolting a SNES controller and the Hip Gear Screen to my SNESp. Do you think I shoul take the time to cut holes for buttons and stuff or just do what I did above? Also my Case is 1/8 thick aluminum I don't think that is enough room for the buttons to stick out what should I do to resolve this issue???

Sticking them on would work fine I think
