Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Crap, I was away from this board for a few hours and its gone crazy...
Anyway, Im 14 and Im fine soldering and hacking stuff. Im currently hacking my psone screen to do bens brightness mod (and its going to be controlled by jumpers!). So as long as you can handle an iron of soldering you'll be good.

(Ill post pics of my screen when Im done.)

G-force I just saw your PSP (Wrong Forum I know) and I knew that one could be made using the PSOne in it's case and the case feels pretty comfy I think. But I neve owned a PSX (I rented one to play Battle Arena Toshinden once but now I have it for PC) so I never bothered to try making a PSP. I think a Sony screen could be flipped over and the back taken off and screwed directly to the lid, but I don't have one so it is just an idea. If anyone wants to give me one I will give it a try

There is almost no room between the CD and the CD lid so that wouldn't really work. And the PS one screen is really weird shaped :?

I always thought you were about 15-16 at least :) Kinda surprising.

Anyway, I'm making a GenesisP with a radica I'm getting soon, and a Hip Gear Screen (if I can find one in england).
i'm 13 too and i have ABSOLUTELY no idea how to do this stuff...it just looks cool and i bought the book so maybe i'll get lucky

and is there anything i can buy, that i can plug the ac snes plug into, maybe some kind of portable socket? ive seen some expensive ones at radio shack, and i was wondering if theres any cheap ones...

as you noticed, im trying to avoid ripping my system apart as much as possible lol

sure, a PSOne screen would be fine. Also, you can just desolder the AC plug from your SNES and put it on the case of your portable.

you mean wiring the 2? That's easy. Find the pin on the SNES that is for composite video out, and the pin for composite video in on the screen, and then do the same with the grounds. I'm too lazy to find out which pins they are, but I can tell you that you can find them on a stickied post in portable screen hacking and at http://www.doomportables.org/video.php

I hardly ever have enough money to make something, usually I'll wait till my birthday or christmas to get some money, as I'm spending my birthday money this year on a soldering iron, radica genesis and a hip gear
