Gen3 av issues

Post by jaytee »

Alright, does anyone know about the Sega Genesis A/V connectors? The one on my Gen3 is being flaky and I would like to fix it. However, after opening it up, it seems the connector is housed in an impenetrable metal box, and I'm not sure where to go from here. Any help is appreciated.

(It isn't the cable, as it works fine with my Nomad).

alright, i'm sitting here with the Gen3 in my hands, and i for the life of me don't know which pin on the DIN connector corresponds to which solder point. Any easy way to tell besides trial and error?

it would be if it was a Nintendo based system, not a sega.

well, i had already found that, but i don't know where those pins go to on the actual board. the plug goes in one way and the solder points are on the other side, in a totally different configuration and i'm not sure what's what without totally busting up my av plug.

yea, the whole point is that the port is broken.

i think i'll just do some trial and error, then find some junk to practice soldering on.
