They don't have Ben's book in japan? I always thought that the japanese were crazy about game stuff and would do anything to get their hands on it.

sure, I don't have a B&N in my area so I'll need to wait for it though.

Well, the Japanese are fanatics about technological stuff. But some others are not. Its the same as in America, some people are all crazy about vertain things (normally their hobbies or something) while others hate those same subjects.
Only thing about Japan is that people here have practical uses for the technology given to them. Because of the cell phone standard in America (and the price) not everyone has a cell phone, or have a need for one with a lot of features. For example, if not many people have a cell phone, then why have text messaging? in Japan everyone has a cell phone because its cheap and good to have the security. Also, because everyone has a cell phone, text emails are a must along with cameras. Every phone comes with a camera standard. So they have practicle uses for the technology given to them. just a culture and national thingy.

Just wondering, what is your meaning for saying this? I am not sure I understand what you wanted to say. If you mean that the Xbox is not popular, you are right because the PS2 has games for everyone and the Gamecube has games for mostly kids and stuff. The xbox has games for everyone but not many good ones that the Japanese culture like. I have found on Japanese auctions Xboxs go for about $50. Moded ones (with a 160hd, EvoX, emulation up the butt, movies, and an ability to copy games to the HD) for about $180-$400. There is even a Linux Box for $400.

So the point of this is to say that Japanese are crazy about technology, just the same as we on this board are. There are a group of people that like technology, and that group seems to have made technology everyone can use, so everyone has it.

EDIT: To reply to G-Force, there is a problem with Bens book... it happens to be in English. Granted Japanese people study English for like 6-8 years, that doesnt mean they are good at it. Besides after a year most forget about it.
When in Japan with access to just about every system ever made and those that have yet to see international soil, gather your forces, and make the cool ones your own.

sinclair may have been formed in england (I know the zx80 or whatever it's called was popular) but atari was founded in California, USA.

Am I that darling little rectangle in the centre?

Also, Mr. Heckendron, it's a honor to be in your talented presence. Between your work with portable "good ol'" gaming systems, and your movie career, I'm in awe of your life. Plus, you live in Wisconsin. Now that's just plain cool.

Now back to that diagram...can I just not be the rectangle in the middle, and instead be the rectangle in the corner with popcorn laughing his [noun]s off? That would be so much better...

maybe I hould have said "arrogant newbie" or something. Based on the 2 posts you've made, signature, and location, you seem to be a good guy. Generally people that belong in the position of the rectangle are people that annoy you from the first post to final ban. Your first posts are not bad at all, I must say.

Hey, we welcome noobs as long as they are here to actually learn or make something, or heck just post a whole lot

I believe that diagram is for people who come here just to make fun of stuff, spam, and have no serious interest in what we do here.
You are obvously not like them because you bothered to register, whereas spammers usually do not.
