Install Windows XP on Gumstix?
I was wondering would it be possible to install the WXP OS on Gumstix.I know it is Linux based, but would it be possible to overwrite it?
PS even if the processor could support or emulate the needs for it I think those things run purely on RAM, which is all Linux needs, Windows of anyform I think requires at least some little piece of Hard Drive space to function, this is why Windows has failure bundled in the Software (hey I'm a Win user so I can say this) The Hard Drives eventually corrupt data and since RAM is wiped after each use, then it is easy to keep Linux happily with less errors over time

They sell about 50 module add-ons and I believe 2-4 of them offer video out. The Gumstix is a nice little embedded computer, with surprisingly good flexibility. I'm not sure if it has enough processing power (even running TinyXP/XP-lite) that it could run XP without a lot of lagging. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, try it please see if I'm wrong. Again I just am not sure if XP can run on that kind of a system with such low system specs.scherzo wrote:How the hell do you get video out of one of those Gumstix?
