Post by Dr. KillGood »

Ok, I am posting from my new computer! I named it Awesome-o.

Ok before this I had a hard drive that wasent SETA, now that I do its weird.
In the bottom near the clock it says "Safely remove hardware" when I click it it shows my hard drive? It usually dose that for iPod? How do I fix it?

I believe SATA drives are considered a removable device, so that's always going to be there while you have and SATA drives in your computer, there is nothing to "fix"

right click on your start menu, and go 'properties'

then make sure 'hide inactive icons' is checked off, and click 'customize'.

find the safely remove hardware icon, and choose 'always hide'

while youre at it, change settings on any other icons.

(note: i also have that icon for my removable cd drive, and it seems to always be hidden even when its set to 'hide when inactive'. always hide will make sure its gone for good though, if thats what you want)
