I'm newly registered here, but have been a follower of the portable scene for about a year. Some of you may remember my first portable, the SNESp fusion on POD.(If you have any questions on how I built it just ask) Im just giving the heads up about my next SNESp coming soon. I successfully made a vacuum-formed case, and everything now just needs to be crammed inside. Also it uses a MODEL 1 (NOT MINI) SNES board. One challenge I made was to make a stylish portable using an inexpensive version 1. It will use a PSOne screen with modified backlight. As for more details, just sit tight.

New SNESp Coming Soon!
Whazzup,

If all else fails, take it apart!
Does no one else use the Model 1? It can be reduced in size by trimming the ground strips on the edges. Doing so makes it look less like a square, and thus getting a better shaped portable. Also, I used a DC-DC 5v supply. This reduced power consumption and eliminated a heatsink--it does not waste energy as heat. I hope this broadens peoples horizons with making a SNESp.

Have seen much activity around this section...
I have had a question thats been bugging me for a while....
How many hours do you consider to be great battery life for a portable?
2.5....5...7...what do you think?
My last SNESp had a terribly short runtime(1.5 hours) , so I am making sure it will be better this time around.
Any opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Before the PSOne screen mod, I calculated about 4 hours- but the battery didn't behave like I thought, so I used a smaller backlight to lessen the load. This may get me past 4 hours, I'll just have to wait and see.
BTW--Nice job on the NGCp, I noticed you vacuum formed the case. That's what I did with this SNESp. I'll post pics later this month.
