looks like this thing wins all around.

im actually impressed on how it looks, doesnt seem like a yobo or something of the like that looks either stupid (colors or shapes) or just seems cheap looking.

CTFan: There have been snes clones similar to this for years, and NOACs existed long before the patents on the NES were up. Pirates don't tend to care too much about that stuff :P

SNES clones before this? Really? Never knew that!

The reason I ask is that Ebay is one of the staunchest enforcers of the "no pirated stuff" rule. There used to be NOACs all over Ebay until they started cracking down, now it's just Yobos. But these SNES clone things still run rampant. Not that I'm complaining...

:P

Ebay does keyword filtering of auctions, one of the main things to stop NOAC traffic. IIRC Family Converter is even on their list.

hmmm...one would think they would piggy-back all they can into one area of the chip...does the video run to the actual NOAC? if so then they were just conserving chips...if not then they may use the rgb encoder for both...I say this since I recall reading something about RGB outta NES...do remember but I thought I saw it somewhere

Yeah, but then again, what's the point of RGB on NES?

NES doesn't have RGB, the graphics chip outputs composite

Great find. However, this will only work better than a normal SNES if you use a screen smaller than the PSOne screen.

For my portable, it would make absolutely NO difference in size. (5" PSOne screen, Li-Ion batteries, etc.)

Yea the point is you get a Snes AND a Nes portable. And the price will come down. They should be around $39.99 by next year.

Nice! I love how the twin famicom consists of 3 seperate boards. You could make a portable with the width of nes cart if you had a small screen.

The rgb lines are easy to find as stated before, but there's no real use in taking those if they don't work for the noac.

You could however, make 2 seperate portables out of this, using the noac as a nes portable and the snes board as a snes portable. Since the snes board is even smaller than the mini snes board you'd be able to make a very small snes portable.

Sweet! This could be the key for me to put the Super Nintendo in my tiny case. Thank you so much!

Another good thing to check for is to make sure the SNES part works with specialized games like Starfox, Super mario RPG, Megaman X2, X3, etc.
If issues were to happen, they would probably surface with these types of games.
