Does this seem like a valid case layout for a PSOneP?

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

Any thoughts?

NOTE: The buttons aren't to scale and the blue lines are inside/below the case.

Yes, but don't expect it to end up looking like that.

I tried so many different ideas, and in the end it will end up looking close to what Ben's looked like. (But not exactly)

Also, that'll be tiring to hold. The buttons at the bottommeans that you're supporting a system and screen and batteries and such with your wrists.
I suggest making it a bit more square, or landscape. But, that's just my preference.
Hey, sup?

That looks really topheavy. You want the case designed so the weight of the console is supported by the heel of your hand (the part between the thumb and the wrist), so the controls should go a bit more toward the middle. The way you have it set up now will make your hands sore fairly quickly. That's why several PSone Portables have the controls cut into the case opposite the open and power buttons.

Mine will have a layout similar to the CNC PSoneP from the book, but hopefully it will be a little thinner (I'm using a dedicated LCD module as opposed to hacking a poket TV or a Hip Gear screen).

It won't necessarily be top-heavy. With mine, I had the battery directly behind the controls, and it made the bottom heavier and therefore pretty comfortable to hold.

Yeah, I'm going with more of a landscape design. Thanks for the comments!
