Where can I buy nichrome wire? Anywhere locally like home depot or someplace?

Buy a scrap toasted and steal it from that.

Stole some from a dead soldering iron. Didn't do what I wanted it to.

How do I make nichrome wire glow red with something that's portable and cheap (using it to ignite smoke bombs and other explosives/firey things)

Kind of like a time delay so I can run away before it goes off.

Two things:

1) How do I make nichrome wire glow red thats cheap + portable?
2) How do I make a time delay (electronically [free TI chips!] or otherwise)
