question on atari games for ps2

hello, i was wondering if it is possible to use an original/authentic atari game to be played on the ps2. i am interested in purchasing the ps2 cartridge that contains many atari games but using the ps controller doesn't seem very appealing. any help/info would be appreciated!

you mean ps2 disc and atari controller right um well you might be able to solder the d pad and the trigger. If you know whic button is the trigger

sorry if i wasn't clear. yes ps2 disc with atari controller. i am not a very handy guy so i don't think id be able to attempt a diy project for this. do you know if anyone sells/makes such a thing to use for the ps2? thanks for the help.

AFAIK, there is no adapter or Atari-like controller. This is about a generation off, if that's close enough: http://madcatz.com/MadCatz/product_deta ... ct_id=8202

Wouldnt a usb adapter that converters the atari to usb work? I know that something like that is out there, and if the usb works as a controller you can do that.
