Radica Genesis 6-in-1, can you get RGB output from it?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Radica Genesis 6-in-1, can you get RGB output from it?

After seeing the 6in1 mod for the portable I was wondering if there is a way to get RGB out. RGB is much clearer than composite or RF. Then I would use a modded PS1 screen in RGB mode. Possible?

I don't think so. The Radica is very limited in its input/output, since it's a very dedicated little beast. I'm guessing it's very similar to the NOAC (Nintendo on a Chip) designs where it simply outputs composite video from the CPU IC itself. Remember that they weren't designing these things with mods in mind, they were designed to be compact and functional for what their intended purpose is. Forum 42 has a bunch of comments on the Radica in various threads, which you might also want to check out before proceeding in this project too.

there would be rgb somewhere maybe in one of the chips but composite starts out as rgb

Well, yeah. But if you can't access it because the whole thing is in the glop-top, then that wasn't worth pointing out, yeah? I said it was unlikely to be able to be accessed, not that RGB didn't exist somewhere in it :)

The original video coming out of the VDP on a MegaDrive/Genesis is R G and B signals .. then it flows to the Composite Video Encoder / RF Modulator .. but since the VDP and Encoder are integrated together you can't get at the intermediary RGB signals without opening the package of the IC and breaking out the ol' electron microscope. ;) Sorry.
