Maybe they meant that they fixed the problem by putting the NOAC in something else, indicating that the problems aren't in the NOAC, but the Superjoy's supporting circuitry.

Yeah, I took off the ribbon cable connecting the NOAC board to the controller board (where the problem was), and then I just directly connected all the devices to the NOAC board, so the problem was either in the ribbon cable or the controller board. It works, I really don't worry about it.

The Super Joy's sound faults (e.g. samples playing to loudly or as static and FM playing too softly and distorted) are in the NOAC/FOAC. It varies from chip to chip though, the build quality is so low that no 2 are truly alike. If you get NO sound though, that's probably a loose connection or dry solder joint on one of the leads. Almost none of the wires are insulated and are actually glued in place, not soldered, in many cases.

is some of them they hot glued but its uncommin at least from what ive seen meny are sodered in place with a strip of hot glue covering it

Ok, got my converter from gannon. Works great. Now to get a screen and make a case.
