wireless gba forum
maybe I could make a hub for gba cross communication...trade pokemon using wireless connector THROUGH the megasystem THROUGH ether net connection to friend accross the globe...WIRELESSLY!
...........but that would need to be a gcn/ps2 megasystem!

ah-ha! I knew the Uber-Ameobas wouldn't die that easily!
If I wanted to make a dual-system portable, and needed it to be small..hmm...
I'd go for the Atari 2600 (with 4x4 mod) and the NES (NOAC).
It wouldn't be small, esp. with the cart ports, but with some artful diode usage(you might not even NEED the diodes at all), You could possibly use the same internal controller for both, and even have the Atari use the exta buttons. Here's what I'd make if I had to make an Atari/NES controller.
NES D-Pad -> Atari D-Pad
NES A Button -> Atari Fire Button
NES B Button -> Atari Fire Button (Turbo with 555 timer chip)
NES Pause Button -> Atari Pause switch (connected to a sort of latch circuit to make the NO switch to work correctly)
NES Select Button -> Programable(through internal dip switch, selecting which of the remaining 3 Atari switches to activate or none of the switches((button would not do anything)), latch circuits installed where needed.)
NES Reset buton -> Atari Reset switch(if compatible)
Nes Power and Atari Power REPLACED by Battery Power(interrupt complete circuit) and SPDT switch, routing the 9V or so, to a 7805 (Atari), or to a 7806/constant* LM317(NOAC).
*When I say constant LM317, I mean the potentiometer has been eplaced with a normal resistor of a definite value to give the same constant voltage.
What do you guys think of that?

duh!
the latin deff. for envelope is basicly container, english deff. is a paper slip to mail messages in... I'm using the word to describe the shell that the guts live in; the ghost's shell....when I add all of this crap I BEGIN TO HAVE A PROBLEM; I have no place to put it...therefore when I upgrade the gaming technology I am PUSHING the CONTAINER's space limits....
pushing the envelope(container)
thus by default the usage of the word envelope literaly applies, because I am not using metaphor or simile!

i think the best way to fit all the stuff in a small case is to utilize a miniturized anamolus subspace portal to temporally displace the internals of the system to another location in space/time!
hooray for jargon! lol

i am from iowa but i am not ignorant nor am i a redneck i like to think i have a decent grasp on the english language (altho i tend to puncuate/spell rather poorly)
(that was not ment to be offensive/insulting)

Why does the idea of Yoshi's Y-Boxx keep popping in to my head as I read this thread. Right becuase thats precisly what you want to do. Read his artical at thescreensavers.com and work from there on how you want to make it work.

Re: wow!
The 4x4 mod Atari is an Atari VCS/2600 board cut into a 4 inch by 4 inch square, and the NOAC is the NES-On-A-Chip.bluevalium wrote:well mm007....that sounds...great....english please? lol! that would be pretty cool, I'll work on it, but my goal is to make a new system megasystem, eventually.[/b]
The rest was about the power system and controller.
