NESp Power switch question

Post by nickerous »

I want to keep the original NES power switch, but I want it to power the system and the screen. How would I bring those two together?

| |
| / <switch _______ to psone
| |__________/ (nes switch)
| \ _____/ ___ to nes

This uses two switches.
If you want to have 1 switch buy a STDP switch.

yeah, there might be some draw while it's off so you'll probably want to use a switch other than the nes', or disconnect that switch from the nes and use it to turn the batteries on and off.

You can still use the original NES switch, if you put a DPDT or DPST button switch behind the NES' power button, and use HK-47's switch diagram. For DPDT you'd need to wire it this way:

Code: Select all

ScreenPower o o NESPower
ScreenVin o o NESVin
not connected o o not connected
For the DPST it's the same except there's just two fewer pins so you don't need to worry about the pins that aren't connected... but you DO need to worry about the orientation of the switch then! DPDT tends to be easier (at least for me) to use, and slightly more versatile so I usually end up getting them bulk :P
