Wiring a controller to the Main board

Post by Mikkl »

Well, this is my first post about my first portable, a SNES, so hopefully I won't embarass myself. In order to minimize the space taken up by the controller, I'm trying to wire the controller directly to the SNES main board. I've already made the connections that I think are right, but the SNES doesn't turn on correctly.

Here is a very undetailed picture of how I think the controller connects to the main board:

If this is correct, then I'm assuming that you could connect the controller like so:

Is this right, or is there something that I'm missing? Thanks in advance.

I don't have a snes to check that on, but as long as there are no ICs on the controller input board I think that should work fine :)
