Cool store with good cheap tools

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

Cool store with good cheap tools

Post by arfink »

I was at a cool shop in my town today called Harbor Freight. They have a neat device called a plastic welder, which looks like a soldering iron for the handle, but has a little blower tip on the end, and it gets really hot. I bet it could be useful for somebody looking to build a cool case, or for bending plastic too. And it was CHEAP. I think it was about 15 or maybe 20 dollars, max. Most stuff at this store is made in China, but if youre only going to use it for a portable, its really nice cheap tools. I got a dremel there for only $7. I don't know if there are any other stores in other states or whatnot, maybe Ill check the ad I got in the mail from them. A nice shop, if you find one stop there and see their wide selection of cheap tools.
Emulation isn't accurate. There is no substitute for real hardware!

HF is evil. They keep sending me these things called "catalogs" in the mail. It'e easy to ignore them when they send me emails because I can just delete them without opening them. It's as if they know I can't resist their power. I can quit ordering tools at any time...

The plastic welder looks interesting. I should have my "security bit set" here within a week or so.
