Actually Beta's quality was like that of S-VHS, the thing that killed it was one Sony and two the fact that beta when by 1.5,4,5.5 hours. VHS made it to fit a 2 hour movie easier and with Sony cranking them out Beta didnt last long. Kind of funny that I have my grandfather's old beta camcorder and two players myself. And most of you not knowing what beta is makes me feel OLD.

Anyways, atm I'm thinking that Blue Ray is going to beat out HDDVD, but then again you never know.
Same here. PS3 is going to use it, so I would think so.

Not really and those things are rather heavy the shipping is going to cost an arm and a leg.... well for the one that I got with the camcorder any ways.

Maybe you can fill me in on why you want a beta player to put your SNES in. A standard VCR or even more vintage a laser disc player now those are plenty big.
