Making an MVSp, need some help on voltages (PSone screem)

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Making an MVSp, need some help on voltages (PSone screem)

Post by Moose »

Okay everyone, hello, and nice to meet you. This isnt my first time on the boards ever, but in a long time.
I am building a MVSp (Neo Geo Arcade)
I am using a Neo Geo 1-B board, and a PSone screen. Here, already, i have 3 different voltages to power: 5 volts, (Neo board) 12 volt (neo sound) and 7.5 volts (PSone)
Now, if i can drop the PSone screen down to 5 volts somehow, that would be great, maybe by totally disregarding the speakers, and running sound of the board? Any ideas guys? I know ive come to the right place

Thanks!

The PSOne screen uses a 7805 regulator that takes the voltage you input down to 5, so if you can have that one voltage be regulated you can run them both with ease. Or if the other thing can handle 6v replace the 7805 with a 5v LDO chip. I hope thing helps you.

so, why is this in the Pocket TV hacking forum? This is probably one of the worst places to put it in, no offense to the creator of the thread.

The original topic is running the psone screen off of 5V, I think that's why it's in this thread.
