Hey um, on page 91 of Ben's book, it says that you can make the LEDs brighter by bypassing the little surface mount curcuit thingy. Well I tried to bypass it and endid up removing it, and now I think I lost it. I know, I know, very stupid thing to do, but it was an accident. Well, is there anything I can do, or do I have to pay $40 for another PSOne screen?

Why is it accually broken or do you not like the brightness of the leds?

I don't mind the brightness. I just want to know if It will work without it. And if it will, do I have to replace it with a blob of solder or just leave it as-is?

I think its a resistor. If you have to, you can ask around for the resistance of that one, and find another one to put it in. I also hear that soldering to those was a little difficult, so replacing it with a normal resistor would be hard.

EDIT:

Oh duh, all you have to do is bypass the resistor..

What I'm trying to get across is, I lost the little resistor thing, I don't mind the leds being bright, and what do I do to make it work(now that the resistor is missing), do I put a blob of solder where the thing used to be, or do I leave it be (just gone)?

I know it's gone, just put a blob of solder over the two solder points.

Put a little solder on there to fill the gap where the resistor (little square thing) went. This will do the same thing as bypassing it (like the book says)
