ThoseWhoHackPortableTV's&ThrowAwayThe RF TVtuners

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

ThoseWhoHackPortableTV's&ThrowAwayThe RF TVtuners

Post by The Zydeco King »

Is it possible to hook up the RF TV tuner receiver to a PSone monitor? If so I would like to buy one of those TV tuners, from you guys, so I can watch TV on my PSone screen.

Probably You would need the composite out from the tv and the rf in and then chop off whatever was left.

You can get something like this. Find a cheap one you like. Also try ebay.

Actually, there's actually a chip on the lcd that decodes the rf signal into the different channels, and it's required even to use composite also on most lcds.

I'm talking about the TV tuners that Ben strips out of the Casio Pocket TV's. I would like to know if what he throws away would work if hooked up to a PSone monitor, for watching TV on a PSone monitor.

Zydeco King has a good question that no one has answered. I would alos like to turn my PS one screen into a portable TV. That's a good idea.

Yes, it's a good idea. Especially if you connected a wavebird to it, and a rf transmitter to the Gamecube. Then you could have a (sort of) portable Gamecube.

Well, on the back of the tuner there are 8 pins. That would be enough for
Power
Ground
Audio out to tv
Video out to tv
channel left
channel right
Antenna
And something else...

I wish I could find a pinout.
