in this picture are you only soldering to the board with the 60 pin connector on it? if so then is the other board used at all?

also does anyone have any extra controller ports(i still want to be able to us my controllers on other nes's ) and power & reset button for the nes, that you could possibly sell me?

That's my diagram. You solder the wires directly to the board. Look @ these pics

The top is the first red wire 5v

This sucks I just bought a Super Joy 3 and the board looks different. I found 12 wire points in a row, but they are at a different place on the board. Here's what mine looks like. The gray ribbon cable has 12 wires.

This is the exact same prob I have (mentioned in my last post that annoyed everybody) ..... I tryed tracing the connections, but I get confused when it gets to the black goop on the controller board.

I'd be willing to bet that it is still either exaclt like, or a mirrored version of, the diagram above. it should be pretty simple to test, just measure the voltage at each side while it is running with the second player controller plugged in, look for +5 on either side of the bord, when you find it start working your way through the diagram, but only the parts for the 2nd player, when its done use that to test and if it works than assume the diagram is correct. At least thats what I'd do, but I've been told that I'm somewhat "reckless" with hardware...

I just bought the same one. I searched around the forums and found a link for it.

Look under Pirate NES 2. Pin 12 (+5V) is the pin closest to the crystal.
