SFC
A friend of mine will pay $100 for a snesp the problem is i dont have one I was wondering if i could use the much cheaper super famicom instead can it play american games cause I thought it could.
$100 for a SNESP. Well You could do it I think. However, I do not know about the carts for the SFC and SNES. You probably could, because from what I know the only difference is some plastic bracket thingy that gets taken off anyway when you take out the board. But do not take that as fact.
If you want one, they are about $11.00 here in Japan used (of course). But which one do you want? V1 or V2? The version two (smaller one) is freaking tiny here. But that is about $35-45 depending where you go for just the body. If you want cords and stuff, thats all cheap as well. But it would not be hard to get you a SuperFamicom and some games to you. Its actually pretty cheap.

When in Japan with access to just about every system ever made and those that have yet to see international soil, gather your forces, and make the cool ones your own.

I have a cousin who lived in Japan for a couple of years and is big into video games. He said that the SFC and SNES are not that different, plasitce brackets on the SNES were put there to keep us from using Japanes games and the who 50/60 hertz, Pal, NTSC crap. You can convert a SFC to do the signals to work on an NTSC screen the thing of games is just be sure that the you make your own case or you'll be having to cut up things around the cart slot.

Then just make a new case, I dont think software protection came out on video games until the later or end of the 16bit console series so most games should run. Hope you enjoy gaming.

I think selling a SNESp for $100 is absolutely absurd. If you find a system for $20-$30 then you are going to have to find a screen at or under $80 just to break even. That does not even account for the solder, wiring, and case material that you will need to build a SNESp. Also you have to consider your time and I know it will take 5+ hours to complete. Even working at McDonalds making $6 an hour you would make $30 in that amount of time. So with everything considered your SNESp is worth far more than $100 even before you try to make a profit. I would definitely sell it for more.
