Making the LED-modded screen brighter

On this page, Ben said you need to short out that thingy on the back of the screen with a little wire. Would I just add a piece of wire to it and connect it to ground or what? Also what is the best LDO for a Sony screen. Thanks!

You short both sides of the resistor to eachother. Basically you're just jumping the resistor.
As for the ldo, I'd say that a 5V one would be best

So, I wire 2 wires, one to each end of the resistor and then connect the wires. Is that right?

I'm pretty sure you could use just one wire.
I just actually jumped it with solder.

How efficient was it? How much did the contrast detail decrease? Or is it hardly noticeable?

I don't have a working ps1 lcd so I wouldn't know. You could try and contact either ben or abbibi and I'm sure they've done the complete mod.

well...i did this to my psone lcd...but rather than soldering to the tiny chip, i just removed the jumper  and it worked fine and dandy...

the only reason i did this was because i couldn't see the rgb coming from the n64...it was waaay to dark to be even playable...but doing that made it a BUT better...i might just go with composite in the end :?

Yeah, it definitely helps with the brightness, and as Ben said, the brightness controls actually do something so you don't have to always turn the brightness all the way up.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!
