Engraving plastic and bent aluminum

Post by Neo_Weapon »

Anybody know where I can find engraving plastic and bent aluminum. I remember in Ben's book, he said you can get engraving plastic from trophy stores, but is there any other place?

I got some from a nearby hobby store. They also might have some at a craft store like Hobby Lobby, I'm not sure though.

As for aluminum for bending, you can definitely get that at any hardware store, they should have long aluminum sticks for fairly cheap. Just make sure you get the right dimensions or you'll be stuck having to bend too thick of aluminum.

For the plastic, you could always use PlexiGlass from Lowe's, or try a machining or sign shop. (check the phone book)

The metal is easier to find. Just go to the hardware store, it wil be there. If not you can probably improvise with some rain gutter or something.

I just waltzed into a trophy shop for my plastic. The guy acted as though I was kinda weird asking to buy some of his sheets of plastic, but it all worked out

I got the same size sheet at a hobby store for $2. Sure, I have to spray paint it, but it was pretty cheap.
